In the process of determining what needed to be done we found out that it was not my line but the main sewer line belonging to the town. I called them, and the person on call, when he arrived, told me that because I did not have a \u2018 clean out \u2018 valve located at the street there was nothing he could do for me (it seems they are not allowed to come any further than the edge of the property).<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>After attempting to clean it from my end we were still unable to get things flowing. I called them again, the nest day, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">but not before using an MBO this time.<\/span> And this time, while again explaining the town\u2019s policy he then suddenly suggested that he would do it for me anyway, as a favor. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth I helped him move the hose into place. It took him all of five minutes and we were in business (the # 2 business ) once again. \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 I thanked him, and tipped him, as we said our goodbye&#8217;s. Now that\u2019s what I call a good thing!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>A MBO SURPISE<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Marais writes:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #008000;\">Portland, Oregon has been having some very, very cold weather and had snow in the forecast. The last time that happened, the storm suddenly veered off course and bypassed us completely. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I threw so many MBOs toward snowfall <\/span>and when that happened, I prayed for snow overnight that would stick until morning. When I got that, I said another prayer that my classes would be canceled.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>I was a little fussy when I got to class&#8230;and then class was canceled and I ended up having a fun adventure and lunch with my friends from that class. So, maybe it wasn&#8217;t exactly what I had imagined my snow day outcome would be, but I can&#8217;t complain: instead of watching TV all day, I got to laugh and socialize!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>MBO FOR WASHER<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Lyn writes:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #008000;\">I&#8217;ve been using MBO&#8217;s daily and have shared them with friends, one of whom uses them often with great results. I&#8217;ve had great results too and wanted to share a big one I had recently. My washer needed a repair that would have cost $150 and my neighbor who fixes them said he knew a guy who fixes washers who might have a newer model (mine was over 11 years old) for about the same price.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>He made the call and his friend said he could sell me one (six years old) for $160 and for another $50 he&#8217;d deliver it and take away the old one. I had a week to think about it. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I said a MBO for finding a washer for $150. <\/span>I looked around but didn&#8217;t find anything for that price. I had resigned myself to the idea of paying out $210.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>The day came and the friend of my neighbor came out with the washer which was a matched mate to my dryer which previously had been part of a mismatched pair. He even broke up a matched set to do this for me! He had cleaned it so immaculately it looked brand new. Anyway he offered a new deal, $175 for the washer and take away of the old one. When it came time to pay for it though, he offered the washer and take away for $150.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>I never asked him to lower his price once. And I got it for what I asked for in the MBO. You can be sure I&#8217;ll be sending my friends to him and\/or my neighbor for any repairs in the future!\u00a0 Once again, MBO&#8217;s to the rescue! Thank you, Tom, for enlightening us to this simple and effective way to make our lives so much more stress free.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>MBO FOR GRANDSON IN SCHOOL<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ruth writes:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #008000;\">This is the best MBO I could have received.\u00a0 I got an e-mail from my daughter, telling me that my grandson, who has had a rather rough time with life, and only had eleven weeks to go until graduation was being kicked out of school for the rest of the year because of a confrontation with a teacher.\u00a0 Needless to say, we were heartsick.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I asked for an MBO for his school situation with an outcome even better than I could imagine.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Later that day I received another e-mail.\u00a0 My grandson had returned to school to present his senior activity to the board.\u00a0 The board loved it and he has been accepted back into school.\u00a0 Several of the teachers were in tears, it was so touching.\u00a0 He will receive a medal for it at graduation and his name will be in the program.\u00a0 They said they wanted him to graduate as badly as we did and they would do their best to get him through the next eleven weeks.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>What an MBO.\u00a0 I cried with gratitude.\u00a0 It was certainly better than anything I ever could have imagined!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>12 YEAR OLD HAS SUCCESS<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>This story was in last week\u2019s newsletter, but I thought you would like to read it too.\u00a0 Go to the website homepage at <a title=\"www.TheGentleWayBook.com\" href=\"www.TheGentleWayBook.com\">www.TheGentleWayBook.com<\/a> to sign up for it if you wish.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lindsay writes:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #008000;\">This morning when we arrived at school, my 12 year old daughter Carly announced today that these <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8220;MBO&#8217;s&#8221; really work<\/span>.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Last Saturday we went to Select Soccer Try-Outs along with hundreds of kids.\u00a0 She was crying, didn&#8217;t want to get out of the car, said she had a stomach ache, her eyes stung from the sun screen that got in them and she was sure since there were so many kids, there was no way she would be chosen.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I said it was time for her to say an MBO to help her.\u00a0 She did <\/span>and reluctantly got out of the car.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>After that try-out, the 1st of the required 4 try-outs, the coach came up to me introduced himself and told me that my daughter has everything he could want in a player.\u00a0 He talked about her leadership, her tenacity, her presentation, maturity, respect for adults and he went on and on.\u00a0 After the try-out the next day, the same coach came up to me told me Carly is his favorite and he definitely wants her for his team.\u00a0\u00a0 Carly&#8217;s angels must have really gone to town on her behalf.\u00a0 It&#8217;s 5:55 as I&#8217;m typing this.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>To top it off, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Carly won Lady GaGa tickets from our local radio station a couple nights ago after her MBO to win<\/span> and today, against all odds we got to school in 3 minutes, a major record.\u00a0 My other daughters are noticing this and want to know her secret!\u00a0 I&#8217;ll make sure she shares.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>BIG BINGO WINNER<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Mary Lou writes:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #008000;\">I have to tell you I won a Jackpot at Bingo, about two weeks ago.\u00a0 It was $7,000, but I took out $2,100 for taxes.\u00a0 I put that in the bank.\u00a0 My husband said, \u201cI told you that you would get it.\u201d\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I asked for a MBO. <\/span> Keep up the good work. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>WHEELCHAIR BENEVOLENT PRAYER<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Eleanore writes:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #008000;\">There is a young woman, where I live, who is confined to a wheelchair; the kind you must propel by hand.\u00a0 I asked her one day, why she didn&#8217;t have a motorized scooter and she said they would not authorize one for her. <\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I said an MBO to ask that she be motorized so she wouldn&#8217;t have to work so hard to get around.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Three days later, I met her. To my amazement, she was driving a motorized scooter!\u00a0 I told her how delighted I was for her and asked her what happened.\u00a0 She told me one of the other women she knew got a new scooter and didn&#8217;t need this one so she gave it to her!!!\u00a0 I was completely blown away and you can be sure I sent much gratitude to those angels who managed that.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>MBO DELAYING DHL<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jackie writes:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #008000;\">Friday I had my day completely destroyed by learning I had made a mistake the previous week and had to correct it immediately and get the shipment out for Australia by the end of the day so they&#8217;d have it Tuesday (their time) to process.\u00a0 This isn&#8217;t a lot of time.\u00a0 As the day went on I was starting to worry.\u00a0 As I got to the end of the day I knew my file wouldn&#8217;t complete copying to the disk until about 5:45pm. DHL comes whenever they come between 5 and 6 and he had called around 5:30 to alert shipping he was on his way.\u00a0 I was racing the clock.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>So <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I asked, twice actually using different wording, for the most benevolent outcome for this shipment. <\/span> I ended up getting the disk down there at 5:50, just moments before DHL arrived, after agreeing to wait for this last shipment.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>The reason this all worked out?\u00a0 Right when <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I said my benevolent prayer (BP)<\/span> the signal light broke.\u00a0 On top of that, other cars weren&#8217;t letting the driver through.\u00a0 He sat at that light for 20 minutes, giving me the time I needed to complete the shipment.\u00a0 Right after he left the light was fixed so no one else had to experience delays.\u00a0 Beyond that, the driver was on overtime so he earned a little extra cash which he very much needed but didn&#8217;t ask for.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">If I hadn&#8217;t asked for my MBO (most benevolent outcome) he wouldn&#8217;t have gotten his overtime. <\/span> So this was a super benevolent outcome in my mind. lol\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On my way out of the office to rush home I said a ton of thank yous as I felt so much relief having it all work out.\u00a0 If it hadn&#8217;t I would have been ok but I am very appreciative for the help. \ud83d\ude42<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>A MBO is something SPECIFICALLY for you and a BP is when you&#8217;re asking for something benevolent for someone else.\u00a0 Just that simple.\u00a0 And another &#8220;rule&#8221; is that it has to be benevolent for everyone involved in the MBO request.\u00a0 In this case, the delay was benevolent also for the DHL driver who was paid for overtime&#8211;a win-win for everyone, including the clients in Australia!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>THE GENTLE WAY BOOKS<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Don\u2019t forget that THE GENTLE WAY II is NOW AVAILABLE for delivery on Amazon.com and is IN STOCK!
